About Us

Pathways understands the complexity and stress that families endure when trying to deal with problematic behaviors and skill deficits of their loved ones. We conceptualize that all learners like to have fun which is why we build rapport at the onset of services to unveil the learner’s preferences. Our mission is to explore all aspects of the learner and collaborate with families and other providers to create an individualized and socially appropriate treatment plan that entails multiple interventions that will increase desired behavior, skill sets, and competencies. Throughout the course of treatment, Pathways upholds the rules and ethics set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and the Virginia Board of Medicine.  We maintain all required certifications and state licensure; and conduct ourselves with the highest level of integrity.

Our Vision

There are three concepts that formulate the vision for Pathways:

Core Values, Professional Growth, and Principles.

ABA utilizes research based scientific interventions that have been proven to be effective. But what happens when the intervention does not display progress? Pathways strives to pinpoint effective interventions by performing frequent data review analysis. Consistent data review informs the supervisory team when to make necessary modifications and adjustments to the behavioral interventions to boost progress and effectiveness of treatment.

Secondly is collaboration, which is paramount in ABA because the treatment team relies on feedback and indirect data from parent/caregivers and other service providers. When all parties work together in conceptualizing and implementing treatment goals, generalization occurs across environments which also fosters client continued progress.

Employees are the backbone of Pathways, no one is omitted from professional growth. Technicians are provided quality training and consistent supervision to increase competencies of ABA terminology and interventions. BCBA’s perform consistent research reviews and undergo educational training to stay up to date on behavioral processes, changes, and interventions, as behaviors and environments evolve over time.

Principles are foundational! Pathways employees understand and demonstrate respect, dignity, and ethical processes. Families and clients are unique in culture, race, religion, and strengths and weaknesses. Pathways respects and embraces diversity. All staff follow the rules and ethics outlined by the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) to maintain professional conduct across all environments.
